Absentee Voting by Mail or In Person


Absentee Ballots
Absentee ballots will be available 46-days prior to the election.

  • November 5, 2024 – General Election: Absentee ballots are available beginning September 20, 2024, through November 4, 2024.

Absentee Voting In Person
Absentee voting in person is available at Corcoran City Hall, 8200 County Road 116, Corcoran, MN 55340 beginning:

  • September 20: General Election
    City Hall hours are Mondays -- Thursdays from 8 am until 4:00 pm and Fridays from 8 am until 12:00 pm.

    If you requested a ballot by mail, your ballot will arrive via regular mail.

    When voting absentee in person, you will be asked to complete a Minnesota Absentee Voting Application Form to begin the process of absentee voting. Once your registration is confirmed, you will receive a secrecy envelope, an absentee vote envelope and your ballot. Once your complete your ballot, place the ballot in the secrecy envelope and seal it, then place the secrecy envelope into the absentee ballot signature envelope and seal it. If voting at City Hall, return the absentee vote signature envelope to an election judge. You will be asked to provide appropriate information on the signature envelope and the election judge will be witness to your signature as you sign the signature envelope. If absentee voting is occurring at an alternate location, a registered voter must witness your signature on the signature envelope. If you have not registered please visit www.

Extended Hours: City Hall will be open extended hours for absentee voting: 

  • General Election: 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 26, 2024; 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday, November 2, 2024; 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 3, 2024: and 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on Monday, November 4, 2024.

Direct Ballot Voting In Person
New this year, direct balloting in Minnesota is available 18 day prior to the election dates . If you prefer to place your ballot directly into the ballot counter rather then voting via absentee secrecy and absentee signature envelope, below are the dates direct ballot absentee voting begins:
  • General Election: 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 26, 2024; 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday, November 2, 2024; and 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on Monday, November 4, 2024.


Apply Online and Mail
If you are unable to vote in person at City Hall, visit the Minnesota Secretary of State's website to complete the absentee ballot application process online. If you’re unable to complete the application online, you can also complete one of the following options.

If you’re unable to download the application, please call 763-400-7031 to request that an absentee ballot application be sent to you. Upon receipt of completed and signed application, your absentee ballot will be sent to you.

Ballot Drop Off
You can drop off a ballot that was mailed to you at Corcoran City Hall, 8200 County Road 116, Corcoran, MN 55340) during the absentee ballot period Monday through Friday 8am-4pm and during the extended absentee ballot hours:

Saturday, October 26: 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Saturday, November 2: 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Sunday, November 3: 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Monday, November 4: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Tuesday, November 5: 7:00 am - 8:00 PM


Military and Overseas Voters 

If you are in the military or residing overseas, there is a different process for applying and voting by absentee ballot. Please visit the Hennepin County website for more information. 


Track Your Absentee Ballot
