Human Resource Generalist

The City of Corcoran is a rapidly growing community on the western edge of Hennepin County. The City is currently accepting applications for a Human Resource Generalist.

The Human Resource Generalist position will coordinate and perform a variety of human resource functions while providing assistance to the City Administrator, Assistant City Administrator, and City Council, while also serving as a partner to the Department Heads on human resource and operational needs. The Human Resource Generalist will serve as the primary point of contact for all staff related to pay, benefits, employment, and overall human resource needs. Responsibilities include management of job descriptions, administration of employee benefit program, maintaining insurance program offerings, managing the City's handbook for compliance, planning and execution of employee recruitment, selection, and orientation, maintaining confidential employee records, and assisting and resolving human resources matters. The Human Resource Generalist will also be responsible for employee training, retention of the City's safety management program, workplace performance management, and other duties as assigned.

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong leadership and customer service skills, as well as knowledge in the areas of public sector personnel, human resources administration, principles, practices, and techniques including legal requirements. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in human resources or equivalent combination of experience and training. Candidates will also be required to pass a pre-employment background check and have a valid driver's license.

Desired qualifications include previous experience working for a municipal or county government and experience working with ADP.

The salary range is $80,620 - $98,342. Starting salary will depend on qualifications.
